EXPEDIA ROLLS OUT SALESFORCE TO MANAGE ADVERTISING WORKFLOW

Overview

The Expedia Media Solutions team needed a common repository to manage and track information about customers as it flowed from marketing to sales, to operations, and billing.

Media Solutions selected Salesforce.com as the best platform to manage the data capture, workflow, and collaboration on all key business data. 

Madrona Solutions was engaged to architect the Salesforce solution and to work hand in hand with the Expedia team for the implementation.  The combination of Expedia’s business representatives, Madrona’s technical and business expertise, and the Salesforce platform has led to Expedia realizing significant time savings and efficiencies in the way information flows between departments.

Rapid Deployment

The first set of deliverables, including architecture blue print, and working version of Salesforce.com were completed in less than 8 weeks.

High Employee Adoption

The increased visibility into all aspects of the business, ranging from the performance of specific advertising campaigns to overall account information, enabled people from all aspects of Media Solutions to glean useful, actionable information from the implementation.

Custom Product Capture

The advertising business did not lend itself to the out of the box product catalog so Madrona worked closely with Expedia to strategically customize Salesforce to develop a set of intuitive grid based interfaces that would allow the advertising team to capture products in a sensible manner for customers, but still provided enough depth to allow the operations team to convert the orders into actionable placements on the website.

Custom Reporting

Data was extracted from Salesforce and joined with other business systems in order to serve up customer reports that show Executives precisely how the organization is tracking toward its overall goals.
